Playtest Prep
Hey guys, welcome back to another devlog! This week we’re prepping for our first playtest outside of the class and working towards our alpha build.
Firstly, we’ve been updating our obstacle system, all things from placing, switching between obstacles and blocking others from using theirs. Obstacles selection will be based on the player's position at the end of the round. However, players behind can choose to block the placement of one of the first place players' obstacles. After stepping away from grid placement the game feels a lot smoother along with updates to that all-important camera.
Up next is our new level! We all sat down last week and discussed, designed and sketched many iterations around the theme of the level, how it would work, interactions with characters and the level. We then passed them on to Emmet who has been modelling the level away. I’ll give you a sneak peek below, and ye can try to guess what the next level will be. More obstacle models are being made as we speak to allow for more variety.
