Meet the team!
Hi there! Welcome to Bosca Dubh Games (bus-ka do-ve) first game devlog! We’re an Irish Game Dev team from Technological University Dublin and we’ll be releasing our game as part of our major project in Summer 2022.
To kick off this devlog we’re going to be introducing the team and be giving you an insight into what our game is about and our development process over the next coming months. We aim to create a game that everyone can come together and play.
Firstly, we’re going to introduce our Lead Programmer Philip! Ever wonder how in a game how that mechanic is implemented and runs smoothly? That's where Philip comes in. He lays the groundwork for the game to make sure our vision and gameplay can come to life. He works closely with Ryan to make sure all the mechanics are implemented correctly for the best gameplay experience possible.
Next up we have our Artist and Level designer Emmet! Emmet’s responsible for all the visuals you see from characters to the environment setting. His job is to also collaborate with our game designer on the feel of the game and the experience for the players. You’ll be seeing a lot of his work very soon, showing progress from concepts to white boxes to the finished product!
Ryan, our Lead Game Designer and Co-developer, is up next. He’s here to make sure the core mechanics are implemented correctly for the player to have an enjoyable experience. He conceptualises ideas and communicates with everyone to make sure the game's vision remains clear. When it comes to his secondary role he’ll be helping Philip with programming tasks to problem-solving.
Finally, we have Olivia, which is me! I’m the Production lead and Community manager. I’ll be organising meetings and weekly sprints. I’m in charge of making sure we stay on schedule for each milestone of game development. I’ll be running the socials and this devlog keeping it up to date, but you’ll be hearing from the others too, don't worry! I’ll also be hopping in on art and design to help spread out the workload.
Next week we’re going to be discussing our idea for our game and the process behind it!
